Yeah the Variety Arts Center gig was mindblowing to my then 17-year old skull. If I remember right, DC3 and Firehose opened. Sound quality here is allreet, indeed.

The butthole surfers at their prime. The shows in Los Angeles are alway's a little more spacey, prolly cause the drugs are easy to score out here!
I have this show on a VHS tape someplace!! I'm pretty sure it has a couple more song's, when I find it I will try to capture the show and upload the audio.

So happy to see thes guys on the archive. They are one of my top 10 favorite live acts. I saw them the week before in Portland, OR. The audio doesn't convey what an all out sensory assault their live shows were but does capture the psychedelic genius. This is music that begs to be played louder than your stereo goes. Sound is better than decent but less than perfect. Wish it was the entire show.
